INTERNATIONAL ENGINE OF THE YEAR AWARD

The International Engine of the Year award is one of the automotive industry’s most lucrative accolades. It’s judged by an international panel of 76 renowned motoring journalists from 36 countries.

From 1996, the PSA Group have won the International Engine of the Year Award in the 1.4 to 1.8 litre engine category for eight consecutive years running. The winning 1.6 litre turbo reduces emissions to 0% and powers the Peugeot 208 GTi and RCZ Sports Coupé.

In 2015 and 2016, the 1.2‑litre three-cylinder Turbo PureTech petrol engine won the 'Engine of the Year' award in the 1-litre to 1.4-litre category, praised by judges for its ability to deliver torque at low revs and its smooth running capability. The three - cylinder engine reduces emissions by around 20% compared to the four cylinder version, whilst maintaining the power and performance of a larger engine.

The three-cylinder engine is a component in the Peugeot 208, new 2008 SUV, 308, all-new 3008 SUV and 5008 range of vehicles.
